Pale pink with golden reflections, this beautiful Brut Rosé from Billecart-Salmon is simply stunning both in appearance and taste. The champagne is made from a traditional blend of the usual Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes, with 8 per cent red wine added from the house vineyards in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ to produce the delightful rosé colour. Delicate, slow rising and lingering bubbles conceal a nose of redcurrants, raspberries and fresh pears on a bed of brioche. Fresh and clean on the palate, the champagne is fine and elegant and would be delicious served with a cold meat platter or fresh berries and cream. Wine Spectator wrote - "A coiled spring of a Champagne, with its berry and bread dough notes locked up in the structure. This needs time or food to mellow and reveal its charms.
