Syrah is the basis for the great reds of the Northern Rhone; and as an ingredient in blends, it contributes much of the character and aging potential for wines of the Southern Rhone. This "Old World" style Syrah presents forward fruit flavors of wild berry, strawberry jam, and dark plum that blend into a concentrated core of earthy cherry, vanilla oak, anise, and herbs. Red cherry returns on the finish with spicy peppers and ample tannins. Excellent from beginning to end, soft, smooth and full-bodied. Food Suggestions |
