Biale's wines are not noted for subtlety, and this outgoing effort again makes the point. As usual, however, there is no want for richness, and the wine is absolutely awash in blackberries and oak. If very full on the palate and showing the heat that comes with maximal ripeness, it hangs on tenaciously to its fruit all the way through and ranks as a solid success among very big, full-blown Zins.
